Project Coordinator
Wellcome Museum of Anatomy and Pathology

Closing Date: 21st of July 2008

18 month fixed term contract

£21,000-24,000 p.a.

The Wellcome Museum of Anatomy and Pathology is the Royal College of Surgeons’ modern teaching collection. It contains over 4,000 specimens of human pathology and anatomy. The museum is licensed under the Human Tissue Act 2004 for the purposes of storage for teaching and research, and is used to support College courses in surgery and dentistry. The College is looking to increase the museum’s use for surgical, dental and medical training and education. You will coordinate this work, liaising with College staff and faculty to improve the existing displays and catalogues; developing ideas for new resources for use by surgical and dental trainees; and contributing to longer terms plans for a major capital refurbishment of the museum.
You will need experience of working in a medical environment; a good working knowledge of anatomical and pathological terminology, and the enthusiasm and initiative to push the project forward. Experience of digital photography, design and desk-top publishing would be an advantage.
